THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON

A mesmerising Planetarium show set to Pink Floyd’s 1973 album The Dark Side of the Moon. Stunning 360° visuals of the Solar System transform the space into a surreal journey through sound and light. This immersive experience fuses science, art and music – offering fans and first-time visitors a fresh way to enjoy the iconic album.

WHISKY UNDER THE STARS

Whisky Under the Stars is an immersive tasting in Dynamic Earth’s 360° Planetarium, led by in-house astronomers for a unique blend of whisky and cosmic wonder. Guests enjoy three exceptional drams while exploring the planetarium and atmospheric indoor rainforest.

This special edition marks the 300th anniversary of James Hutton, the Father of Modern Geology, whose idea of the age of the Earth – which went on to be known as “deep time” – transformed our understanding of Earth’s history.

THE PLANETS 360

The Planets 360 reimagines Gustav Holst’s orchestral suite ‘The Planets’ for a full-dome environment. This immersive, sound-driven experience transforms the planetarium into a 360-degree fusion of art, music, and science, designed to captivate and attract new audiences.

THE GREATEST SHOWMAN SING-ALONG

Step into the Planetarium at Dynamic Earth, for a spectacular Planetarium Lates sing-along screening of The Greatest Showman as on-screen lyrics light up musical favourites like ‘This is Me’, ‘The Greatest Show’ and ‘A Million Dreams’.

ENCANTO SING-ALONG

Step into the magic of Encanto like never before in this sing-along celebration for families in Dynamic Earth’s Planetarium! With on-screen lyrics for favourite musical numbers including The Family Madrigal, Surface Pressure and We Don’t Talk About Bruno.

Enjoy this family-friendly film at 10am on selected dates.

CABARET WITH PITCHCRAFT

HUMANIMALIA

This science-performance art show bounces from Jane Goodall’s discoveries to AI analyses of cat language to evolution and empathy, using storytelling, puppetry, singing, video and animal drag. Ranging from personal encounters with intelligent and emotional animals to recent scientific breakthroughs, this performance piece asks: are humans really so unique?

THE SCIENCE STORYTELLER

7th – 10th, 12th – 17th, 19th – 21st August

Join the Science Storyteller on a musical journey into the surprising science behind… A. A. Milne’s novels! Award-winning science communicator and researcher Dr Iris van Zelst uses new research from the University of Edinburgh to explore why a certain sad donkey was talking about earthquakes. Fascinating family fun!

PEWS AT TEN

22nd August

After receiving five star reviews from Everything Theatre and The Re-Vu, Pews at Ten is back! With three queer clowns in mature-lady-drag, this story is a love letter about tradition and unlikely friendships, wrapped up in a joyous, slapstick whirlwind.

ECHOES OF LINGNAN:
CULTURAL SUSTAINABILITY AND SERVICE DESIGN
