AN ARCTIC ADVENTURE

This winter, embark on an Arctic adventure to Santa’s Grotto at Dynamic Earth! Say hello to Polaris the elf and take part in a guided adventure to help a lost creature return home, discovering more about polar animals along the way. Then, you’ll meet Santa in the icy landscapes of the North Pole and receive a special gift hand-picked by our elves.

YOUR ARCTIC ADVENTURE INCLUDES:

GUIDED ADVENTURE

When a visit to Santa’s Post Room comes with surprising twist, you’ll help Polaris the elf to find a hidden polar creature and discover more about the Arctic and the Antarctic as you journey to find Santa in his icy Grotto. You’ll search for clues, behave like Arctic animals and become part of Santa’s legendary Polar Protectors along the way.

INTO THE GROTTO

Meet Santa and his Polar Protectors in Santa’s Grotto! You will get a photo moment with Mr Claus, where you can take your own pictures with Santa and any grown-ups who want to join in. You can sit in his sleigh or pose with his polar pals. Please be aware that there won’t be professional photographers in the Polar Grotto, but our Elves will be happy to help you capture your group shots.

A SPECIAL GIFT

After you’ve taken a moment to capture the magic, you’ll receive a very special token from Santa Claus. This token will give you the power to choose the cuddly gift you want with the help of a grown-up. Choose your gift to take home with cuddly toys hand-picked by Santa himself for those that visit his Arctic home.

In Santa’s icy home, you’ll find the Polar Protectors: an incredible group of creatures whose job is to protect our planet and ensure the Arctic stays cold for the animals that live there. This year, you’ll become one of these legendary Polar Protectors and help another creature protect its home too!

RELAXED ADMISSION

Book a Relaxed Admission session for Santa’s Grotto: An Arctic Adventure, available at 4.20pm on 5th, 6th, 12th & 13th December. These sessions are designed for those who would benefit from a more relaxed experience.

This experience includes reduced session capacities and fewer transitions between locations on your guided adventure. BSL ADMISSION

Book a British Sign Language (BSL) Admission session for Santa’s Grotto: An Arctic Adventure, available at selected times on 6th December.

This experience includes two BSL interpreters who will be present throughout the entire session. These sessions are designed for those who would benefit from BSL interpretation. For more information about accessibility at Dynamic Earth, visit our Accessibility page.

FAQs

How much are tickets and should I book in advance?

Tickets are £25 for the person taking part in the experience. Accompanying adults/carers are free of charge, with a maximum of three per booking.

Advance booking is essential for this experience.

Will I be allowed to join my Arctic Adventure session if I arrive late?

Arriving at least 10 minutes early is essential to ensure you can take part in your booked session.

If you arrive after your scheduled start time on your ticket confirmation, you will not be permitted to join the session. Our team will do their best to accommodate you in a later session however this cannot be guaranteed, and no refund will be issued for missed sessions.

How many adults/carers can accompany my child?

A maximum of 3 accompanying Adult/Carer tickets are included within a booking.

Bookings cannot be made for accompanying Adults/Carers on their own, nor can you pay extra for additional Adult/Carer tickets. If you arrive with additional adults, our team will be unable to allow them entry to the session.

If you have additional members of your group that cannot attend the session, take a look at Core Café or book a Planetarium show which lasts approximately 30 minutes.

What should I do if I need to amend my booking?

If you need to amend your booking, please contact our team at enquiries@dynamicearth.org.uk. Our team will do our best to accommodate moving your booking to a new date or time. However, please be aware that we may be unable to fulfil your request if sessions are full.

All bookings are subject to the Christmas Experience Terms and Conditions.

Does the experience have an age restriction?

This experience is aimed at children aged 15 years or under.

For General and BSL Admission sessions, Adults aged 16 years or older may only attend this event when accompanied by a ticket-holding child aged 15 years or under.

For Relaxed Admission, this experience is aimed at children aged 15 or under but we welcome anyone who is excited to meet Santa. No age restriction will apply to these sessions.

Is seating available during this experience?

This is a moving experience which takes visitors on a journey across the atrium of the Dynamic Earth building before arriving in Santa’s Grotto.

A limited number of folding seats will be available on request from our team.

Priority seating will be available in the Post Room and the Grotto.

Can I change the gift from Santa?

On the day, children will be able to choose their cuddly toy from Santa. They can choose from: Arctic Fox, Polar Bear, Snowy Owl, Arctic Hare or Penguin.

For Relaxed Admission sessions, the booker will be asked to choose the toy for the recipient as part of the booking. This allows us to include fewer location transitions within the relaxed experience and deliver the gift in Santa’s Grotto instead of our gift shop. If you have pre-selected your toy and would like to change this, please contact enquiries@dynamicearth.org.uk.

Is admission to Dynamic Earth’s Galleries and Planetarium included in this ticket?

No, admission to Dynamic Earth’s Galleries and Planetarium is not included in your ticket to Santa’s Grotto: An Arctic Adventure. If you would like to visit the Galleries and Planetarium as part of your day with us, please book this as a separate experience. More information can be found on our Tickets & Pricing webpage.
