Dynamic Earth are delighted to be awarding ‘Discovery Passes’ to 20 community groups from across Edinburgh and the wider area, which allow free access to Dynamic Earths exhibition and planetarium for community group members.

There are a number of barriers that may prevent people from visiting Dynamic Earth, and providing free access to community groups who face these barriers ensures that Dynamic Earth is a place for all. Dynamic Earth are proud to support both children and adults from a variety of backgrounds, and enable them to access STEM education and science engagement from Edinburgh’s Science Centre.

One Discovery Pass awardee said “Many of the families that we offer services to are unable to afford the expenses necessary to take many family trips around the city. Many of them do not drive, and so the prospect of using public transport to travel into the centre of Edinburgh on a weekend would pose a great challenge, particularly due to the sensory needs of their children. We offer high staff ratios and can hire private transport to ensure that the groups’ journeys are as smooth as possible. As a charity, we are unable to consistently afford to pay the standard rates to visit Dynamic Earth, however, with a Discovery Pass we could look to support many young people to access Dynamic Earth and nurture their interest in our planet”

In 2024/2025 we are thrilled to be helping the following groups and Discovery Pass holders:
