MONSTERS AND MYTHS TRAIL
It’s back! The Monsters & Myths Trail returns from the 3rd October – 1st November 2026, with new spooky stories and spectacular science! Follow the Monsters & Myths Trail through Dynamic Earth’s interactive galleries and uncover the real creatures, natural wonders and scientific secrets that have inspired your favourite spooky tales.
Use your Mythical Map to find different legends hidden in our immersive galleries and take part in fun interactive activities. You’ll collect stamps along the way, and discover myths like dragons, kelpies and werewolves. Your final spooky stop will be in our cafe, where you’ll mix your very own potion!
Step into Core Café, where curious minds can become potion makers and create their very own enchanted experiment as part of their Monsters & Myths Trail.
YOUNG SCIENTISTS, GATHER ROUND FOR A POTION-MAKING EXPERIMENT!
Measure, mix and investigate as you brew your very own Dragon’s Magical Potion. Mix the ingredients, watch the potion change colour before your eyes, and discover the surprising science behind the magic. This hands-on quest is perfect for every budding scientist, magical explorer and their grown-up!
Please allow 10 minutes for the potion making experience. The final entry for potion-making will be 30 minutes before the building closes. Please check our opening times calendar for more information on building opening hours.
Unable to join the potion-making experiment on the day? Pick up a special take-away jelly pot and continue your magic science adventure at home.
Please note that potion ingredients are vegan.
Dates: Saturday 3rd October – Sunday 1st November
Times: 10am – Last entry to Dynamic Earth | See opening times calendar for times on your visit date. Please be aware of final entry for potion-making listed above.
